Carpe Diem: Blossom

I got a chance to read up on some Japanese culture and the symbolic meaning of the cherry blossom.

Very cool.

I am sharing what I found in Haiku.

The cherry blossom
delicate fragility
a moment in time

A moment in time
life and death are in balance
like the falling snow

Like the falling snow
the life of a samurai
the cherry blossom

  3. The Samurai were tough guys, but all had a soft side, they had to honor nature. I like the way you were inspired by the picture I gave on Carpe Diem's Imagination. Thank you Sam for your daily effort to write and share your verses, your haiku with Carpe Diem. It's always a pleasure to visit your weblog.

    1. Thanks Kris, I am very connected to this one as a lifetime student of karate I consider myself a cousin to the samurai and have great respect for them and their way of life The fallen cherry blossom, the snow and the samurai are all beautiful and fleeting. They are connected in japanese theology (for lack of a better word) The temporary ind intense nature of the beauty of the Cherry Blossom is the essence of the Samurai. I am soooooooo grateful I found this site Kris it fills avoid in me I didn't eve know I had.
