Thirty-three

Thirty-three

He
died
when
he was
thirty-three.
It's not like we weren't warned. We all knew he was coming back.
Some looked
forward
 to it.
Some
were
scared.
But no one
expected this.

    1. Ya it was cool the way it worked out. I had the idea in my head ad I write out ince - exactly 33 words frist shot. There is something magic about this word combination. I arranged in in few different patterns and it always worked. I 'm happy with the way it ended up.

  9. This is great - with or without the picture, actually. "But no one expected this" - such a sense of creepy foreboding, but a little tongue-in-cheek, too. Great job!

    1. Yes I wondered if the formatting really helps or does it take way from the words because i agree that stand up on their own. I was also a little worried about the subject matter there can be allot of controversy with old JC.

  14. I like the second one as well-though unlike all others, not being a Christian,I did not see the "cross" but what appealed to me was the kind of ominous ending after a pregnant pause in the last two lines ,which somehow was missing in the "prose" format. My apologies if I come across as silly but am not conversant with "structure" or other "literary" quantifiers(?)-just went with the feel Sam.Whichever form you choose, love the creepy feeling -one keeps expecting some thing out of a horror film-reminded me of Poe's "The monkey's paw":-)
