Innocence and Experience

This week's Trifection is 3 words: rain, remember and rebellion which we are to add our own 33 words to for a total of 36.

Enjoy a little throw back to the Romantics...

*************

I remember when the rain washed us clean.

Rebellion was the triumph of Innocence.

The Tyger changed all that.

He slaughtered the sleeping Lamb.

And made the rain feel dirty.

Rebellion became the duty of Experience.

  9. Sam I shall apologise, for I am one of those who cannot offer critique on the written word, as others do. I write and spew forth my words without at times understanding my own work. I just say it like it is. I cannot delve or read deeply at times, or able to offer anything more than, I enjoyed your words. Yes I feel like an idiot as sadly I find it difficult on occasion to 'comprehend' what the writer has written and apologies don't really suffice. I am being upfront - I am Australian after all... that being as it is I did like this and the photo you chose was amazing for your piece.

    1. Hanks for acknowledging the Blake reference I'm not sure how abstract that is but it definitely mean more if you know the works of Blake. My favorite. In my first year English Poetry class I wrote "William Blake is the Peter Townsend of the Romantics" kind of cheezy but that was 100 years ago and I stil love them both :)

  17. The poem rocks, but the symmetry sends it into orbit. And the photo. So many places to ride that tiger! Superb.
