It was the gentle voice of my wife that saved me. When her voice first came to me through the darkness it was a soft distant light. I could barely make it out – but it was there. It was more of a feeling than anything else. After some time it began to separate and take shape. The soft light and subtle corners of her voice surrounded me, struggling to carry me out of the shadows. Suddenly her words broke through, jolting me into consciousness. She was only inches from me, crying.
"I'm so sorry Baby. I'm sorry for it all."
