DeleteNice work Sam!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill
Deleteget on with IT---> Squandered Life --> "get even with those who have
ReplyDeletebeen good to me"
get over IT --> Sting of life --> "stand up against Suffering"
let go of it --> Who left life! --> "and let the Dead ...Die"
Would anyone go for inconvenient reconciliations if there were any convenient ones?!
My favourite: "and let the Dead... Die"
Brillaint!
Thanks so much I was sweating this on when I submitted it. It's way out of my comfort zone.
DeleteI could feel you!
DeleteYou brought buried feelings into life again!
Thats great deema (sp) I appreciate you as and your comments it means allot to me.
DeleteNice! I love the format, it made your words more powerful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Renee - it's nice to hear I wasn't sure how it would go over.
DeleteI love it, felt like a RIDE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent it was supposed to be!!
Deletei guess you'll be rolling up your sleeves, then, for inconvenient reconciliations...could be fun, in fact, make sure it's fun...and then something good is sure to result (at least you'll be having fun!) I am an alanon member and they're ever reminding me to make amends only if no further damage results. That means for you, too. If the reconciliation will be hard for you, not producing the result you hope for, you are free to let sleeping dogs lie, until meeting up with them in heaven...which is just around the bend. Being kind to yourself is very integral in this "reconciliation" business. I have NO idea what you are referring to because I am a virtual cyber stranger. I grew up in a religion that made me feel guilty for breathing. If we can make amends with people and cause no further harm, then enjoy the reconciliation; facing the fear with God and His angels propelling you forward into peaceful well being. Otherwise, with God's blessing, forgive yourself and everyone, until direct communication won't seem like a confrontation/meeting you really can't handle. Admitting that is not inconvenient, but life-saving. Is this helpful or am I way off? Please no one get mad at me. I could NEVER tall with my Dad about what mad me angry toward him. Instead, I let the anger go, forgave my Dad before God, then treated my Dad like a valuable human being...and he died happy. Some people cannot handle the truth. A stranger (who I believe was an angel) knocked on the door after his wake, with a card that said how my Dad was in heaven, in perfect peace, and I would see him there just around the bend. Dad's mind is perfect now, or will be on Resurrection day. Our past history will be erased, like the computer's hard drive. Meanwhile I focus forward and let the past heal me by what I've learned: Love. All I am saying when you forgive, really forgive, reconciliation is not inconvenient...when we've forgiven, we feel love overflowing inside that covers everyone. Just my thoughts...let me know if I am off base, striking out, or hitting a home run.
ReplyDeleteUmmmm.... lol. You are unique Trusty!
DeleteMy take is this:
we can forgive - that's between us and God - reconciliation is tougher because thats between us and another human - and they have to be willing or reconciliation is not possible. So it's Time to stop "running towards inconvenient reconciliations" because they are often not going happen anyways. Forgive and move on. That's what is behind my statement anyways.
I don't think our off base at all. This whole thing is just a shot in the dark and we're all just doing the best we can.
Your formatting enhanced the reading experience tremendously. I love the strength in letting I. Best part? Getting even with those who have been good to you! Good stuff, Sam!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gina :) I had fun with this prompt.
DeleteI love the structure and the play on words! (: I wish I could still write fun poems like this.
ReplyDelete'm pretty sure you can do anything you put your mind to Draug. Thanks for the nice words. :)
DeleteNicely done!
ReplyDeleteWell done. I love the pattern and the rhythm. Love the line: "and Stop running towards ...Inconvenient Reconciliations".
ReplyDeleteWere you talking about me?
Nope, nothing personal Lum :) Thanks
Deletenice shape & word breaks. I especially like getting even with those who have been good to you.
ReplyDeleteThis was an awesome free fall! I especially liked getting even with those who have been good to you (soooo glad it wasn't revenge :)) Let the dead die is also a powerful line. Maybe it's because I want to read them this way, but these two lines say to me, love generously those who love you and don't breathe life into old grievances by ruminating on the wrongs that have been done.
ReplyDeleteOkay, this probably makes no sense, but it was perfectly clear in my mind...I swear :)
"Love generously those who love you and don't breathe life into old grievances by ruminating on the wrongs that have been done." Bingo!
Deletewell done visual poem. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteI love the idea of getting even with those who have been good to us. Spread the kindness!
ReplyDeleteIt get's tiring getting even with those that aren't good to us
